"Behind the veil part 1" records from a global perspective, the turbulent history and remarkable achievements of women in religion, from the pre-Christian Celtic comunities to the radical sisters of the 1980's. "India Cabaret" looks at the duplicitous situation of women in India. Women who work as strippers in a Bombay cabaret describe the circumstances which led them there, and their conflicting attitudes towards their wives and cabaret performers. In one moving scene, a woman who has supported her village family for years pays them a visit and is obliged to remain outside and communicate through an intermediary. "Hooker" looks at prostitution in the USA. A couple of high-priced call girls, a madam working with her husband and street workers working for the same pimp tell their stories. They discuss their work, their personal lives and their aspirations.
