Northern Territory (Geographic Name)

In 1926, the Northern Territory split into North Australia and Central Australia. Both jurisdictions existed as defined and legal administrative units until 1931 when they were reincorporated with the Northern Territory. The geographic area Australia, Central, includes the southern part of the later Northern Territory.
