Speaker: Dr. Maria Hill.
Greek/Australian historian Maria Hill, (awarded an Army History grant in 2003 to conduct field research in Greece) throws new light on Australia's WWII campaigns in Greece and Crete in her book, "Diggers and Greeks" (2010). She discusses a Greek perspective hitherto largely overlooked. Dr Hill believes that the Australian Armed Forces good relationships with the Greeks saved perhaps 1, 000 Australian lives.
