" We believe that this is Australia's first feminist record. It was produced entirely by women right up to the pressing and printing stage. Pip Porter, who has been composing songs for feminist radio programs and live performances for some years wrote the lyrics and sang the songs. Libby Hunt accompanied Pip on five-stringed banjo, guitar, and penny whistle - and joined in some of the choruses. Cecily Davis, a freelance commercial artist, designed the cover, and the record was produced and recorded in stereo by Ros Bowen. We did not use commercial studios because we thought the songs would have a better "feel" in a more informal atmosphere. So we recorded in a quiet room at home long after traffic noises had died down, often working into the small hours. We hope our enjoyment in recording these songs will be shared BETWEEN WOMEN" --- cover notes.
